The Rockpool

This is our nurture group in our school which has been set up to help children who have difficulties accessing the curriculum in their mainstream classroom. The cause of these difficulties may be for a range of reasons.

The time in the nurture group will be carefully planned to meet the individual needs of each child. This will particularly address the areas of looking, listening and concentrating and will maximise the use of spoken language and tackle any unwillingness to join in.

There will be more than 30 children across the school accessing the group for four sessions or more each week. There will be no more than 8 children in the group at any time with two members of staff.

Before any child starts accessing the nurture group, the parents will be invited in to see what we will be providing and to ask any questions the parents  may have.
