Geography Intent

At Manor Infant School we are Geographers.

We believe Geography is an exciting and essential area of our pupil’s learning journey. Children will explore, discover and develop international open-mindedness while learning about our diverse world and the people within it. Understanding the world and our wider community will allow our children to make a difference in their local community and reach out to become respectful, global citizens.

We use our local area of a seaside city to learn about the land and people that surround us. Children are inspired to have the confidence to investigate current events and global issues, practising problem solving and community building. We strive to expand upon the national curriculum to develop a deep understanding of earth and its wonders. We intend for the children to learn to appreciate what we have and how we can take an active role in preserving it.
