Art Intent

At Manor Infant and Nursery School we are Artists!

We recognise that Art stimulates creativity and imagination. It provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and a special way of understanding and responding to the world.

The intent is to ensure all children have opportunities to use their creativity and imagination, use a variety of tools, materials and resources to develop different techniques. We want Art to be creative, fun and exciting as well as being a purposeful subject where children can improve upon their knowledge.

At Manor Infant and Nursery School, we use ‘Building Learning Powers’ to promote positive attitudes to learning and growth mind-set for all. We believe that there are benefits to embracing a creativity focused on process rather than result. Art provides the children with the opportunities to develop and extend skills and an opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas.
