History Intent

At Manor Infant and Nursery School we are Historians!

History has a clear learning journey across the whole school and builds on prior knowledge and experiences.

Our intent is to create independent learners who are curious about the history of their local environment, community and the wider world. This will include learning about the history of Portsmouth, visiting local historical sites and inviting experts into school to help enrich the curriculum and support children’s understanding. We will stimulate the children’s interest and understanding about the life of people who lived in the past and are living in the present through the development of both enquiry skills and historical knowledge.
